US Patent No. 7,860,994 Awarded to Reality Mobile

Issued on December 28, 2010, US Patent No. 7,860,994 relates to mobile-to-mobile visualization of streaming video and other data feeds, together with its current geographical location. By way of brief illustration, we have included below two sample implementations of the patented process, recognizing that many more variations are possible.

Figure 1 shows a sample side-by-side view on an Android mobile device of an incoming mobile video feed and its current map location. Figure 2 shows a sample live video thumbnail accessed from its map location.

The patent award covers any kind of:

• Mobile Device.  Any mobile device can send or receive the data feed, including smartphones, tablet devices, laptops and mobile PCs, such as tactical flyaway kits.  The mobile devices can be freestanding or they can be embedded in other systems, such as cars (i.e., a camera-equipped police cruiser), boats and aerial assets.
• Geographical Location.  Among other variables, the location data can include latitude, longitude, accuracy of position, altitude, course and speed (direction of the sensor movement) and azimuth, pitch and roll (orientation of the sensor movement).
• Streaming Data Feed.  Our patented process covers any streaming data, including video feeds, audio feeds, text feeds and sensor data, such as environmental data, temperature data, radiation data, or chemical concentration data. With our RealityVision Screencast™ capability, the steaming data also includes any information being rendered on a PC screen, including SCADA data, 3D modeling, aerial imagery, schematics, diagrams and much more.
• Mapping Display.  The incoming feed and its associated location information can be viewed on any mapping display, including Google Maps, Bing Maps, ESRI or any other GIS/geospatial application.
